The 2025 NCCAA DII South Region Volleyball Tournament is set to begin this weekend in "The Nest" on the campus of Pensacola Christian College. The two-day event will feature the five programs in the NCCAA South Region, each vying for a berth to the NCCAA National Championship Tournament, which will be held in Joplin, Missouri, and hosted by Ozark Christian College.
Â
This year's field includes the number one-ranked Pensacola Christian College Lady Eagles, number two Bob Jones University Bruins, number three Baptist University of Florida, number four Toccoa Falls College, and number five Trinity College of Jacksonville.
Â
Tournament play will open on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the Awards Brunch, recognizing this year's all-region athletes and honoring the accomplishments of the 2025 season. Matches will begin Friday afternoon with the play-in game between Toccoa Falls and Trinity College at 1:00 p.m., followed by Bob Jones vs. Baptist University at 4:00 p.m. The 7:00 p.m. match will feature the top-seeded Lady Eagles against the winner of the Toccoa-Trinity contest. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 a.m.Â
Â
For the Lady Eagles, there may be no better place to host the tournament than "The Nest", where they have been unbeatable this season. PCC enters the postseason with an 11-0 home record and an unblemished 6-0 mark in conference play. The team has also won seven of its last eight matches, including a statement win over Florida College last weekend that set a new program record for most regular-season wins with 20, surpassing the previous mark of 19.
Â
The Lady Eagles have shown balance, discipline, and confidence on both sides of the net. They are led by sophomore middle hitter Sydney Anderson, who anchors the attack and leads the team in both kills and blocks. On the back line, junior libero Hope Brooks continues to shine in what has been the best season of her career, leading the team with 367 digs and providing consistency in serve receive and defensive coverage. Along with Anderson's net presence and Brooks' back row consistency is junior outside hitter Lyssie Metzker, who ranks second on the team in kills, service aces, and digs, bringing a versatile presence that has been key to PCC's late-season surge.Â
Â
With momentum, home-court energy, and championship aspirations all on their side, the Lady Eagles will look to defend "The Nest" and capture the South Region title for the first time since the 2021 season in front of their home crowd, punching their ticket to Joplin for the 2025 NCCAA National Tournament.
