The Lady Eagles lost a heart breaker to Enterprise State in OT 86-89 tonight in the nest.
Enterprise made 12 three-pointers on the night and shot 34 free throws. The Lady Eagles came out of the gates slow and trailed by 9 at the half. In The second half the lady eagles played much better and pushed the game to OT, but weren't able to overcome the score deficit and foul trouble. Emma Hardy and Leah Phelps both fouled out, while several other key players quickly fell into foul trouble. The Lady Eagles had 28 fouls called on them and struggled to find their rhythm all night.
Enterprise played a great game and executed their game plan perfectly. Lauran Alvarez has a great night on offense for the Lady Eagles with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. Grace Imdieke also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Coach Jared Sellars had this to say after the game, "I was ready proud of the fight we showed late in the game. It was an exciting game to watch even though we didn't play our best. We have to do a better job defending. We just can't give up 89 points. Our team has a lot heart, and I know we will get back at it tomorrow. We will come back ready for our next game."
The Lady Eagles will be back at it on Saturday, Dec. 7 at home against Welch College at 3:30 pm central time.
