Late Third-Quarter Surge Lifts Lady Eagles Past Clinton College

Game Recap:
After a 37-day layoff, the Lady Eagles returned to the floor for the first time in 2026, squaring off against Clinton College in a first-ever meeting between the two programs. Despite some early rust, the Lady Eagles pulled away late to secure their ninth win of the season, defeating the Bears 88-76.

The Lady Eagles were held scoreless on their first two possessions before leading scorer Brooklyn Bosher jump started the offense with back-to-back three-pointers, giving the visitors an early 6-1 advantage. A three-pointer from lone senior Amber Dudek later knotted the game at nine midway through the opening quarter. The teams traded baskets down the stretch, but two free throws from Boyd followed by a closing-seconds three-pointer from Bosher allowed the Lady Eagles to regain the lead, 19-18, at the end of the first quarter.

Sky Boyd took control early in the second quarter, scoring the Lady Eagles' first eight points and accounting for all of their offense through the first five minutes. A three-pointer from freshman Autumn Boutwell, assisted by Coalson, extended the Lady Eagles' lead to six with just under five minutes remaining in the half. After a brief 4-0 response by the Bears, Boutwell answered again from beyond the arc, keeping the momentum on the Lady Eagles' side. A fastbreak layup later capped an 8-0 personal run for Boutwell, as she and Boyd combined for all 16 Lady Eagles points in the quarter. A late three-pointer by Maddie Fowler closed the half, sending the game into the break tied.

The Lady Eagles endured a cold stretch to close the second quarter and open the third, going four minutes without a field goal. Their defensive effort kept them within reach, and their first basket of the third quarter briefly reclaimed the lead. Clinton responded with a strong 7-0 run, holding the Lady Eagles scoreless on seven consecutive attempts and building an eight-point advantage. A Reagan Moilan steal led to a Bosher three-pointer to halt the run, but the Bears answered with back-to-back baskets to maintain their edge.

With just under three-and-a-half minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Lady Eagles erupted. A dominant 17-2 run flipped the game, highlighted by three three-pointers from Reagan Moilan, along with triples from Dudek and a buzzer-beating three from Bosher. In less than four minutes, the Lady Eagles erased an eight-point deficit and carried a 65-58 lead into the final period.

Moilan stayed hot to open the fourth quarter, scoring the first 5 points and pushing the lead into double digits. After Clinton trimmed the margin to seven, the Lady Eagles answered decisively. Bosher, Ahrens, and Boyd combined for 11 points in a late surge, extending the advantage to 18 with just minutes remaining. The Lady Eagles controlled the closing stretch to secure the 88–76 victory.

Bosher led all scorers with 28 points, marking her third consecutive 25+ point performance. Boyd added a near triple-double with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in 35 minutes. Off the bench, Reagan Moilan delivered a spark with 14 points, knocking down 4 three-pointers and pulling down 4 rebounds.
