Lady Eagles Close Road Trip With 71-62 Win at Bob Jones

Game Recap:
On the ascent of a 10-game winning streak, the Lady Eagles closed out their long two-week road trip in Greenville, South Carolina, matching up against longtime rival Bob Jones University. After winning the previous eight meetings in the series, the Lady Eagles made it nine straight over the Lady Bruins behind a dominant fourth quarter, securing a 71-62 victory.

The opening quarter featured back-and-forth action, with the Lady Bruins striking first and building an early but manageable 9-4 lead. Back-to-back buckets from Sky Boyd and a three-pointer by Reagan Moilan quickly flipped the deficit into an 11-9 Lady Eagles advantage. With just under two minutes remaining, PCC trailed 12-11 before freshman Autumn Boutwell knocked down consecutive three-pointers to close the quarter, giving the Lady Eagles a 19-18 edge.

Boutwell stayed hot to open the second quarter, drilling her third three-pointer of the game to extend the lead to 22-18. Both teams traded runs, but the Lady Eagles controlled the middle portion of the quarter with an 11-2 run fueled by contributions from Boyd, Bosher, Coalson, and Boutwell, showcasing PCC's depth. The Lady Bruins responded late, cutting the margin to three, as the Lady Eagles carried a 36-33 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the break, PCC was outscored by five points in the third quarter, with the difference coming primarily at the free-throw line. Bob Jones opened the half on a 4-0 run before Amber Dudek halted the momentum with a timely three-pointer. Despite the response, the Lady Eagles entered the fourth quarter trailing for just the second time this season.

The final frame belonged to the Lady Eagles. PCC put on a defensive clinic, holding the Lady Bruins to just 8 points on 26% shooting while forcing 6 turnovers. After briefly trailing by four early in the quarter, the Lady Eagles regained the lead with seven minutes remaining. A scoreless stretch followed between the three-and one-minute marks, leaving PCC clinging to a 63-62 advantage with under a minute to play. From there, Sky Boyd delivered a clutch basket off an assist from Coalson, sparking a decisive 8-0 run to seal the nine-point victory.

Sky Boyd led all scorers with 22 points and added 7 rebounds. Despite foul trouble limiting her minutes, Brooklyn Bosher contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds. Boutwell provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, while Ahrens recorded 7 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Moilan rounded out the stat sheet with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
