Lady Eagles Defeat Toccoa Falls 88-44 for 10th Straight Win

Game Recap:
After a huge road win on Monday against Brenau University, the Lady Eagles took on their first South Region opponent of the season at Toccoa Falls College. After falling behind early, the Lady Eagles quickly seized control and ran away with their 10th straight win of the season and 12th overall. Fueled by dominant second and third quarters, the Lady Eagles rolled to an 88-44 victory.

After falling behind 7-2 in the opening minutes, the Lady Eagles found momentum following an Amy Ahrens layup assisted by Micah Coalson. Abby Matney came off the bench and knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to give the Lady Eagles their first lead of the night. A steal by Moilan and a Brooklyn Bosher and-one pushed the advantage to 13-11, a lead the Lady Eagles would not relinquish. Three unanswered baskets from Moilan, Sellars, and Boutwell closed the first quarter with the Lady Eagles ahead 21-14.

To open the second quarter, another Matney steal led to consecutive three-pointers, pushing her to a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc in the first half. After a brief three-minute stretch without a field goal, the Lady Eagles closed the quarter on a 12-5 run with scoring from Sky Boyd, Amber Dudek, Amy Ahrens, and Brooklyn Bosher. At halftime, the Lady Eagles held a commanding 48-27 lead.

Coming out of the break, the Lady Eagles continued their dominance, outscoring Toccoa Falls 27-7 in the third quarter. Boyd led the way with eight points, while Bosher added five points and three steals. The Lady Eagles shot 12-of-19 (63%) from the field in the quarter, forced five steals, and held Toccoa Falls to just 2-of-17 shooting, including 1-7 from three-point range. The 75-34 lead at the end of the third all but sealed the outcome.

In the fourth quarter, an early basket from Bosher and a Moilan three-pointer extended the lead to 42 points, the largest margin of the night. Off the bench, Maddie Fowler provided a spark with five straight points. An Amber Dudek three-pointer capped off the scoring as the Lady Eagles closed out the 88-44 victory.

Leading the Lady Eagles were Brooklyn Bosher and Sky Boyd, who each finished with 17 points. Bosher delivered a well-rounded performance with 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals, while Boyd added 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Abby Matney tied her season-high with 12 points and 6 rebounds, shooting an efficient 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Rounding out the double-digit scorers was sophomore Amy Ahrens with 10 points and 3 rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.

What's Next:
The Lady Eagles return to action Saturday against South Region rival Bob Jones University. Winners of eight straight meetings against the Lady Bruins, the Lady Eagles will look to extend that streak to nine and push their overall winning streak to 11 games. Tipoff is set for 4:00 PM CT.
