Lady Eagles Extend Winning Streak to Nine with 68-58 Victory at Brenau

Game Recap:
After a strong opening to their January 2026 road trip with wins over Clinton and Warren Wilson, the Lady Eagles matched up against NAIA opponent Brenau University for the first time since November of 2019. Having dropped their lone previous meeting, the Lady Eagles evened the score in the series by securing their 9th straight victory and 11th win of the season with a 68–58 win over the Tigers.

The Lady Eagles opened the game cold from the field, going without a FG for the first five minutes. During that stretch, Brenau built an early 8–2 lead, with two free throws from Sky Boyd accounting for the Lady Eagles' only points. A three-pointer off the bench from Autumn Boutwell helped settle the offense, allowing the Lady Eagles to find rhythm and begin chipping away at the deficit. Trailing 14–6 with three minutes remaining in the quarter, a late surge sparked by Boutwell, Boyd, and Abby Matney closed the frame on a 10–3 run, cutting the margin to just one point at 17–16.

Three consecutive layups from Brooklyn Bosher and Boyd quickly turned the one-point deficit into a five-point advantage early in the second quarter. Brenau continued to respond, keeping the contest tight through the middle of the period. A sequence of back-to-back baskets from Ahrens and Moilan, followed by scores from Boyd and Boutwell, ignited a 13–5 run to close the half. A tough, converted and-one by Bosher in the final seconds sent the Lady Eagles into halftime with a 40–28 lead, outscoring Brenau 24–11 in the second quarter.

The Tigers opened the third quarter with four quick points, but Boyd answered immediately with four of her own. Throughout the quarter, the Lady Eagles maintained their composure and double-digit lead, never allowing Brenau to cut the margin below ten. Although Brenau edged the quarter 17–15, the Lady Eagles' control and execution carried momentum into the final period.

Boyd opened the fourth quarter with another converted and-one, extending the lead to 13 with under ten minutes remaining. Early in the quarter, consecutive buckets from Bosher, Boyd, and Moilan pushed the lead to its largest of the night at 18 points. Brenau made a late push, but the Lady Eagles maintained control down the stretch to secure a 68–58 victory. With the win, the Lady Eagles remain unbeaten in 2026 and extend their winning streak to nine games.

Leading the way was 1,000-point scorer Sky Boyd, who finished with an impressive 27-point, five-rebound performance. Autumn Boutwell provided a spark off the bench, knocking down four three-pointers while adding four rebounds. Brooklyn Bosher chipped in 12 points and recorded a career-high 12 rebounds with her third double-double of the season and her second in as many games.

What's Next:
The Lady Eagles continue road play Thursday against South Region opponent Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. Having won five of the last six matchups, the Lady Eagles look to continue their success and push their winning streak to ten straight games.
