Lady Eagles Tie the Program Record with 14th Consecutive Victory

Game Recap:
After wrapping up a dominant 3-0 week, the Lady Eagles traveled to Laurel, MS, to take on Southeastern Baptist College in their final regular-season road game. A commanding 20-5 first-quarter performance set the tone as the Lady Eagles controlled the game from start to finish, securing an emphatic 89-49 victory over the Chargers.

Freshman Abigail Winslow got the Lady Eagles on the board first, opening the scoring with a quick three-point bucket. Contributions from Rachel Phelps, Sky Boyd, Kristin Mentzer, Alissa Brewer, and Mellany Bowser fueled an explosive 11-0 run, with six different Lady Eagles finding the scoreboard in the first four minutes. By the end of the opening quarter, the Lady Eagles had built a dominant 20-5 advantage. The second quarter saw Southeastern Baptist increase their offensive production with 13 points, but the Lady Eagles continued their scoring pace, maintaining a sizable lead. Thanks to Mellany Bowser's 2-4 shooting from beyond the arc, the Lady Eagles went into halftime up 40-18.

Coming out of the break, the Lady Eagles started slow, going scoreless for the first two minutes. However, back-to-back three-pointers from Abigail Winslow and Rachel Phelps quickly put them back on track. The offensive balance continued, with seven different players contributing in the third quarter. That trend carried into the final period, where seven Lady Eagles once again found the scoreboard, led by sophomore Gracee Bieber, who tallied 6 points and 5 rebounds in the fourth. With 34 points off turnovers and 36 bench points, the Lady Eagles maintained complete control throughout all 40 minutes to seal the 89-49 win over the SBC Chargers.

Senior Mellany Bowser led the charge with 18 points, knocking down six three-pointers on 13 attempts in just 17 minutes of action. Fellow senior Alissa Brewer made history, recording her second consecutive triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds—becoming the first Lady Eagle ever to achieve back-to-back triple-doubles. As a team, the Lady Eagles set new season highs with 100 field goal attempts, 59 rebounds, 25 steals, and 13 made three-pointers!
