Eagles Secure Third Straight Road Win with 1-0 Victory Over Huntingdon

Match Recap:
With a 2-1-1 record over their last five matches, the Eagles traveled to Montgomery, AL, for a Tuesday night matchup against the Huntingdon Hawks. Playing without both team captains and starters, center back Boaz DaSilva and forward Reid Rhodes, the Eagles knew they would need to stay disciplined and connected to get the result.

The Eagles struck first just six minutes into the match. After a strong save from senior goalkeeper Nathaniel Hixson, the team transitioned quickly from defense to attack, stringing together a few crisp passes. Jackson Clarke delivered a phenomenal through-ball that found sophomore Justin Loveland, who cut inside and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom corner to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. As the half continued, the Eagles controlled the pace of play, outshooting the Hawks 9-2 and maintaining the bulk of possession. Despite several promising chances late in the half, they carried a 1-0 advantage into the break.

The second half mirrored the first, with the Eagles dictating possession and limiting Huntingdon's opportunities. In the 74th minute, the Hawks earned a free kick just outside the box, but the shot sailed off target. Moments later, a quick turnover led to a 1v1 with Hixson, who came up with a massive save to preserve the lead. With 13 minutes remaining, Vieira Siqueira nearly doubled the advantage, but a sharp save from the Hawks' keeper kept the scoreline unchanged. In the final seconds, Huntingdon pushed everyone forward, including the goalkeeper, for a long free kick. The ball dropped dangerously in the box, but a diving block from Chris Martinez sealed the clean sheet and secured the Eagles' 1-0 victory, their third straight win on the road.
