Eagles Draw Against the United States Sports University

Match Recap:
The Eagles men's soccer team returned from their Georgia road trip last week with comeback wins over two tough opponents, including a key region victory over Toccoa Falls. After a midweek exhibition with the University of West Florida, the Eagles were energized for a brand-new matchup with the United States Sports University.

Both teams came out firing from the opening whistle, trading challenges and displaying sharp ball movement. Just four minutes in, senior Odanci Ndayisaba struck first, burying his seventh goal of the season with a composed finish into the bottom corner off a scrappy through ball from Jackson Clarke. USSA responded well, applying pressure with seven shots in the next 20 minutes. The Eagles nearly doubled their lead late in the half when Reid Rhodes and Ndayisaba linked up brilliantly in the box, only for Ndayisaba's shot to rattle off the left post. The Eagles carried the narrow 1-0 lead into halftime.

The second half grew increasingly physical, with DaSilva shown a yellow card just one minute after the restart. USSA earned a dangerous free kick but couldn't convert. Their best look came in the 49th minute with a long-range effort that sailed high, while Clarke tested the keeper shortly after with a shot inside the box.

Momentum shifted in the 60th minute when a USSA goal kick traveled more than half the field, was flicked on by a header, and finished quickly past the Eagles' defense to tie the match, 1-1. Both sides pushed for a winner down the stretch, but neither could break through. When the final whistle sounded, the Eagles were forced to settle for a hard-fought draw against a resilient USSA squad.

What's Next:
The Eagles will travel to Montgomery, Alabama for a match against Huntingdon College this coming Tuesday. The Eagles have had historically successful games against Huntingdon, a trend they'll hope to continue to improve their overall season record to 6-3-3. With 3 tough match-ups on the horizon, the Eagles will want to build some momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
