Game Recap:
The Eagles men's basketball team opened their 2025 home campaign in commanding fashion Tuesday night, taking down the brand-new Baptist University of Florida program with a wire-to-wire win in the Nest. After a tough loss to the University of Mobile on Saturday, the Eagles came out with fire—clearly intent on putting their first W of the season on the board.
The starting five featured just one change from opening night: Kaiden Pack, Liam Gerdts, Paul Stickles, and Josh Azucena took the floor again, with Bertinato sliding into the lineup for Deric Woods. From the opening tip, it was all Eagles, storming out to a 16–2 lead behind buckets from Pack, Bertinato, and Stickles at the rim, plus a layup and deep ball from Gerdts to stretch the gap. The Eagles stayed in rhythm through the half, controlling tempo and attacking inside to take a 50-point first half. Pack dropped 17 points and grabbed 5 boards before the break, while Bertinato poured in 12 points on 66% shooting.
The Eagles turned it up another notch in the second half, stretching their lead to nearly 20 and never letting it dip below double digits. Pack stayed hot, finishing the night with 37 points on 73% shooting, while Gerdts added 15 points and 7 rebounds. The Eagles' inside game was relentless, scoring 60 of their 90 total points in the paint. Bertinato recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring a dominant all-around team performance.
What's Next:
