Lady Eagles Cruise Past Andrew College for 13th Sweep of the Year

Match Recap:
After getting back into the win column on Thursday with a victory over Baptist University of Florida, the Lady Eagles returned home to face the 14-11 Andrew College Fighting Tigers. Coming in with an undefeated 4-0 record against Andrew and having never dropped a set to the Tigers, the Lady Eagles continued their dominance, winning their 15th match of the season with a 3-0 sweep.

After dropping the opening point of the match, the Lady Eagles quickly took control of both momentum and pace. Following a brief exchange of points, PCC went on an 8-2 run fueled by kills from Kandel, Stephens, and Metzker. After trading a few more points, they closed the first set on an 11-4 run, highlighted by kills from Anderson (4), Metzker (3), Kandel (1), and Whiting (1), taking it 25-13.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with the Lady Eagles dominating the net on both sides. Although they were narrowly out-killed by Andrew 10-8, PCC committed only two attack errors while the Tigers tallied 10. A 6-0 opening run sparked by an Olivia Boyd kill and back-to-back aces from Hope Brooks gave the Lady Eagles early control. Andrew cut the deficit to 8-5, but another 8-1 run led by Anderson, Metzker, Whiting, and Crumly stretched the lead to 16-6. From there, the Lady Eagles cruised to a 25-17 win in set two.

Andrew College came out strong in the third, jumping to a 16-9 lead and forcing PCC to use both timeouts. But the Lady Eagles responded with the grit that has defined their season, going on a 10-4 run to tie the score at 19-19, powered by three kills from Sydney Anderson and two from Lyssie Metzker. With momentum fully shifted, PCC closed out the set 25-23 behind a Metzker kill and a Brooks service ace, securing their 15th win and 13th sweep of the year.

Metzker and Anderson led the way offensively with 12 kills each, combining for just six errors on 53 total attempts. Libero Hope Brooks anchored the defense with 15 digs and a season-high four aces. As a team, the Lady Eagles tallied 37 kills and nine blocks, totaling 51 points in another commanding performance.
