Eagles Fall to Bob Jones on the Road

Game Recap:
The PCC vs. BJU game has been a longstanding rivalry. With heightened emotions surrounding this matchup, the recent storm and power outage added an extra layer of intensity. While the Eagles initially took a 1-0 lead, the Bruins responded fiercely, netting three unanswered goals to secure a 3-1 victory over the Eagles.

As the match began, the tension was thick, with both teams fiercely contesting possession. After several early attempts, it was the Eagles who scored first. In the 23rd minute, freshman striker Jackson Clarke beat one defender and unleashed a powerful shot that found the back of the net. With the Eagles leading 1-0, both teams understood that more goals were on the horizon. As the half wore on, the Bruins earned a free kick from the right side, and their cross into the box resulted in an equalizer, tying the match 1-1 with just over five minutes remaining in the half. Before the halftime whistle blew, the Bruins struck again, heading into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

As the second half unfolded, the Bruins earned a penalty kick in the 54th minute. With only keeper Bryce Hammond standing between them and a two-goal lead, the senior made a crucial save to keep the Eagles within striking distance. The intensity of the match remained high, with two yellow cards issued in just three minutes, emphasizing the need for both teams to maintain their composure. In the 63rd minute, the Bruins found the net for the third and final time. Despite the Eagles' relentless effort to rally back, the Bruins managed to secure a shutout for the remaining 27 minutes. With a final score of 1-3, the Eagles' record now stands at 4-4-1, with eight regular season matches still to play.
