Back-To-Back Wins on Friday Night for the Lady Eagles

Game Recap:
As the night began the Lady Eagles planned a double-header against the Champion College Tigers. Having never played the Arkansas natives, the Lady Eagles were excited for the opportunity to play an NCCAA cross-region opponent. Throughout the night the Lady Eagles dominance was seen through their six set victories.

In the first set, the Lady Eagles fell behind early, trailing 3-4. However, they rallied with a strong 16-7 run to clinch the set 25-15. The second set also started slowly, with the team down 4-1. Once again, the Lady Eagles bounced back, securing a 25-17 win. In the third set, Champion fought back to tie it at 14-14, but senior Grace Loo sparked a seven-serve run that propelled the Lady Eagles to a 22-14 lead, ultimately finishing the match with a 25-15 victory. Freshman Olivia Boyd showed out in the first match with 15 kills and a .500 hitting percentage on 28 attempts, while defensively, Allie Whiting, Lyssie Metzker, and Hope Brooks combined for 36 digs, helping the team secure their first match win of the night.

After an hour-long break, the Tigers and Lady Eagles faced off one final time for the night and the regular season. The Lady Eagles came out strong in the first set, dominating with an impressive 18-5 start and ultimately winning 25-16. They continued their momentum, taking the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-12. Sophomore Lyssie Metzker led the team with 10 kills on 22 attempts, closely followed by junior Michaila Kinney with 9 kills on 20 attempts. Overall, the Lady Eagles outscored the Tigers 150-88. With a combined total of 108 digs, 89 kills, 10 blocks, and 7 service aces, the Lady Eagles delivered a stellar performance in team volleyball.
