Lady Eagles Dominate Their Home Game Against Welch College

Game Recap:
After a narrow victory at Covenant College last week, the Lady Eagles were eager to secure another win before heading into Thanksgiving break. This marked their second matchup of the season against Welch College, with the Lady Eagles having won the first game 71-59 on the road. Looking to close out the season series 2-0, the Lady Eagles delivered a dominant performance, winning 94-60.
 
The game started close, with the Lady Eagles holding a slim 6-5 lead early on. Less than four minutes into the game, Coach Sellars looked to his bench to provide a spark and he found it. After a substitution, the Lady Eagles went on a 12-2 run to build an 18-7 advantage. The Lady Eagles never looked back, extending their lead to 44-22 by halftime, capped by a layup from Sky Boyd.
 
Out of halftime, the Lady Eagles came out strong with a 7-0 run, highlighted by a three-pointer from Kristin Mentzer. They continued to dominate in the third quarter, maintaining a solid lead. Sky Boyd contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds in the third quarter. As the fourth quarter began, the scoring went back and forth before the Lady Eagles put the game away with an 11-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from freshman Lexi Garcia. The Lady Eagles finished strong, securing a 94-60 victory in a dominant team performance.
 
Offensively, Sky Boyd led the Lady Eagles with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block. Followed by Amy Ahrens coming off the bench contributing 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. In total, the Lady Eagles had 11 players who contributed to the scoring in this all-around victory.
 

What's Next:
On Tuesday, after Thanksgiving, the Lady Eagles will face off against Champion Christian College, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m. In their last meeting, the Lady Eagles lost 86-80 earlier this season at Champion Christian College. The Lady Eagles are looking to get their revenge with a win at home.
