Lady Eagles Remain Undefeated with Last Minute Thriller

Game Recap:
In their third game in three days, the Lady Eagles aimed to close the weekend undefeated at home. They achieved that goal with a thrilling victory that came down to the wire, finishing with a score of 71-69 against the Stallions.
 
The first quarter proved challenging for the Lady Eagles, as the Stallions maintained the lead throughout. However, Abby Matney made a key buzzer-beater to cut the Stallions' lead to just 4 points, ending the quarter at 19-15. In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles fought back, tying the game at 22-22 with a three-pointer from Rachel Phelps. They continued to play well, ending the half with a 36-33 lead, Abby Matney lead the team in scoring with 12 points in the first half.
 
The third quarter, however, was a struggle for the Lady Eagles, as they were outscored 22-11 by the Stallions. With 11 turnovers affecting their efforts, the Lady Eagles found themselves trailing 55-47 going into the final quarter. Determined to finish strong, the Lady Eagles came out firing in the fourth quarter. Kristin Mentzer hit a quick three-pointer and followed it up with a layup, narrowing the gap to just 3 points. She then assisted Mellany Bowser for another three, tying the game at 55-55. The final minutes were intense, as Alissa Brewer crashed the boards to score an and-one, putting the Lady Eagles up by 1 with just 30 seconds left. With a strong defensive effort in the closing moments, the Lady Eagles held on for a hard-fought 71-69 victory, remaining undefeated as they wrap up a successful weekend at home.

The Lady Eagles' next game is Tuesday away at Coastal Alabama Community College – North. This presents an opportunity for the Lady Eagles to maintain their undefeated record against Coastal Alabama Community College – North all time.
