Eagles Suffer Their First Loss of the Season

Game Recap:
After a perfect start to the season, the Eagles faced off against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for the first time in program history. Despite a sluggish beginning and an early deficit, the Stallions managed to fend off a late rally from the Eagles, clinching a 60-53 victory on the Eagles' home court.

With three lead changes in the first four minutes, both teams were primed for a competitive 40 minutes. However, a 24-10 run by the Stallions midway through the first half left the Eagles trailing 32-20 with eight minutes remaining. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the situation worsened as they entered halftime down 42-30, facing a twelve-point gap.

As the second half unfolded, the Stallions kept the Eagles at a distance, maintaining a double-digit lead for most of the period. However, a pivotal three-pointer from Josh Azucena at the six-minute mark sparked an 11-1 run, bringing the Eagles within two points with under four minutes to play. After their surge, the Eagles unfortunately cooled off, failing to score in the final 3:26 and ultimately falling short in tonight's game by a final score of 60-53. Offensively, the Eagles struggled, hitting just 35% of their shots from the field and 18% from beyond the arc. Still, their defense remained tenacious, tallying 13 steals and 5 blocks from 23 forced turnovers.

What's Next:
Monday, the Eagles will match up against Southeastern Illinois College at 7:00 PM. With an undefeated record against the Falcons, the Eagles look to get back into the win column on Monday.
