Eagles Final Road Game of the Semester Spoiled by the Owls

Game Recap:
After a five-day road trip that began on Friday, the Eagles wrapped up their travels with a matchup against the MUW Owls. Holding a 1-1 record for the trip, the Eagles were looking for their second win and fifth of the season. However, the Owls managed to keep the Eagles to their second-lowest point total of the season, securing a 68-58 victory.

The game began with back-to-back blocks from Gerdts on the Owls' opening possession, setting the tone for a hard-fought, defensive battle. The Eagles surged out to an 8-3 lead, shooting 4-6 from the field in the first four minutes. After a timeout, the Owls answered with three consecutive three-pointers, taking a one-point lead at 13:15. That would prove to be the last time the Eagles held the lead in this game. Despite trailing by as many as eight points, the Eagles kept the deficit within single digits. At halftime, they were down a mere 30-33, marking their second-lowest scoring half of the season.

In the second half, a three-pointer from Brandtley Koske tied the game at 37-37. The teams then engaged in a back-and-forth battle for the next six minutes. After a fastbreak layup from Paul Stickles, the Owls called a timeout with the game tied again at 44-44. Over the next 3:44, the Owls went on a dominant 14-2 run, building a double-digit lead. Although the Eagles managed to cut the deficit to 8 points, the Owls held on for their first win of the season, handing the Eagles their fifth loss.

Offensively, the Eagles were led by senior Aaron Wagner, who scored 15 points with 3 assists and 3 rebounds, shooting 6-13 from the field. Brandtley Koske followed closely with 13 points and 4 rebounds, also shooting 6-13. Meanwhile, Liam Gerdts posted his second double-double of the season with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in a game-high 36 minutes of play.
