Lady Eagles Win Their Third Straight to Open the Season

Game Recap: 
In their second game in three days, the Lady Eagles showcased their strength and determination at "The Nest." After a strong start, they never looked back, finishing with an impressive 88-60 victory over the Tigers.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 9-1 lead, but the Lady Eagles quickly responded with a 9-0 run of their own, taking the lead at 10-9. By the end of the first quarter, they had built a solid 29-17 advantage, thanks in part to sophomore Sky Boyd, who led the team with 7 points in the opening period. The second quarter proved to be a fierce battle, but the Lady Eagles widened their lead to 19 points as Amy Ahrens capped off the half with a buzzer-beater layup, bringing the halftime score to 53-34. Freshman Abigail Winslow led the team in scoring at the break with 13 points, showcasing her potential as a key contributor.

The third quarter began with a quick score from Sky Boyd, who continued her strong performance by grabbing an impressive 6 offensive rebounds during the period, providing the Lady Eagles with valuable second-chance opportunities. They maintained a commanding lead at 72-44 heading into the final quarter. In the fourth, the Lady Eagles ensured a balanced offensive attack, getting multiple players involved. Mady Bruce made an immediate impact, scoring back-to-back fast-break layups followed by a three-pointer, contributing to a quick 5-0 run. The Tigers were unable to overcome the substantial lead, and the Lady Eagles secured a convincing 88-60 victory.
