Lady Eagles Leave Their Tri-Match with a Perfect 6-0 Record

Game Recap:
The Lady Eagles entered their Saturday tri-match filled with optimism. With a perfect season record of 3-0 and having yet to lose a set to their visiting opponents, the team was eager to secure two more victories. As planned, the Lady Eagles went undefeated, winning all six sets they played.

The day began with a match against the Andrew College Tigers at 10:00 AM. Following a successful match the night before, the team maintained their momentum, winning the first set 25-16 and demonstrating strong control. The second set proved to be more challenging, with multiple lead changes and 14 ties as both teams fought for supremacy. A crucial kill by freshman Olivia Boyd and an attacking error from the Tigers allowed the Lady Eagles to edge out a tight 26-24 victory. Shifting gears, they dominated the third set, closing it out 25-15 and securing the match. Sophomore Lyssie Metzker and freshman Sydney Anderson each recorded a remarkable 20 kills, bringing their season totals to over 200. On the defensive side, sophomore libero Hope Brooks added 4 digs, also surpassing the 200-dig mark for the season.

After a two-hour intermission during which they watched Andrew College face Toccoa Falls, the Lady Eagles took on the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles next. The match kicked off with Helen Payton and Megan Kinsey connecting for an early kill, setting a strong tone. Although TFC kept it close initially, the Lady Eagles pulled ahead, finishing the set with a 10-3 run. The second and third sets mirrored this pattern; TFC attempted to rally but the Lady Eagles ultimately closed out the third set, wrapping up the day with two more wins. Defensively, Lyssie Metzker and Hope Brooks led the way with 12 digs each, while senior Allie Whiting contributed 11 digs, rounding out a strong team performance.
