2022-2023 Eagles Awards Brunch

On Saturday, April 1, 2023, the Eagles, Lady Eagles, staff, and friends all came together for the 2022–2023 Eagles Awards Brunch. Athletic Director (AD) Addison Calley opened with a lighthearted joke by saying, "Before we get this banquet started, I wanted to let you athletes be the first to know about our athletic department rebranding. We are no longer going to be the Eagles. From this moment forward, we will now be known as the PCC Dolphins! And I would like to welcome all of you once again to this year's Eagles Awards Brunch on April Fools' day! So, we obviously will not be rebranding ourselves as the PCC Dolphins."

This year, many team awards were received. Individually, PCC had 7 student-athletes of the week, 18 regional awards, 10 national awards, 1 Region Player of the Year, and 1 National Player of the Year. Furthermore, each team had a player set a career record!

Each coach began with their own introduction. Coach Ohman opened by saying, "The facilities, the gear, the lessons learned, the doors opened because of Eagles Athletics are all gifts given specifically to these athletes. And while the gift of the 2022 season came with losses and frustrations, it also came with celebrations and record-breaking achievements." Although Coach Ohman was introducing the Lady Eagles volleyball team, this quote reaches to all four sports and encompasses every PCC student-athlete.

After the meal, the second half of the program began by announcing an all-new set of department awards alongside newly added player awards. The PCC Eagles athletic department and each student-athlete voted on these awards.

Newcomer of the Year Award
Presented to a male and female student-athlete who was dedicated, positive, hard-working, and made an immediate impact on their program during their first year of competition at PCC. Jackson Matney and Matt Harold presented this award to the following athletes:

Best Performance Award

At the conclusion of these awards, AD Calley returned to the stage to present the most prestigious award in PCC Athletics—the Eagle Award. He explained that the Eagle Award goes beyond the playing surface and looks at the individual that embodies the "PCC Eagle" way. For his commitment to excellence on and off the field, Clint Peterson became the 36th recipient of the Eagle Award.
