The Pensacola Christian College Athletics department gathered to celebrate one of the most successful seasons in program history at the annual Eagles Awards Brunch, recognizing both athletic and academic excellence across all programs.
Â
The 2025–26 season proved to be a historic one for the Eagles and Lady Eagles. PCC brought home three major NCCAA honors, including the Dr. Vickie Grooms Denny Award, Pete Maravich Award, and Dr. Marti MacCullough Award. In addition, 19 student-athletes earned All-Region recognition (MBB: 2, WVB: 4, WBB: 6, MSOC: 7), while six were named All-Americans. Team success was equally impressive, highlighted by three championship seasons, as Men's Soccer captured a National Championship while Women's Volleyball and Women's Basketball each secured Region Championships. Individually, Boaz Da Silva and Brooklyn Bosher were recognized as National/Region Players of the Year, while head coaches Ryan Vanderboegh and Jared Sellars earned South Region Coach of the Year honors.
Â
Another key marker of success came at the national level, as PCC student-athletes earned 15 of the 23 NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honors throughout the season, with eight different athletes receiving recognition, showcasing the depth and consistency of performance across the department.
Â
Each program honored its athletes with team awards:
Men's Basketball (MBB)
Women's Volleyball (WVB)
Women's Basketball (WBB)
Men's Soccer (MSOC)
Â
In addition to team awards, the department recognized excellence in the classroom. Lyssie Metzker (3.82 GPA, Cell & Molecular Biology) and Reid Rhodes (3.87 GPA, Engineering) were honored with the Commitment to Academic Excellence awards.
Â
Student-athletes recognized on the President's List included Lyssie Metzker while Dean's List honorees spanned across all programs:

Â
Department-wide awards were also presented to highlight standout performances across all programs. Jameson Bryant (MSOC) and Brooklyn Bosher (WBB) were named Newcomers of the Year. Bryant made an immediate impact for the Eagles, averaging 75 minutes per match while working his way into the starting lineup, earning the start in 13 of the final 15 matches of the season. Bosher was a dominant presence for the Lady Eagles, averaging 31 minutes per game while leading the team with 20.5 PPG and adding 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Â
Lyssie Metzker (WVB) earned Female Performance of the Year after a record-setting performance of 24 kills, 2 service aces, 9 digs, and 27 total points in a single match. Jackson Clarke (MSOC) received Male Performance of the Year for his hat trick and seven shots on goal against Alice Lloyd in the National Tournament.
Â
The Eagle Award, the highest honor presented by the department, was awarded to Liam Gerdts. Presented annually to a junior or senior who exemplifies the Eagle Way in its entirety, Gerdts' career reflects excellence both on and off the court. A four-year member of the Men's Basketball program, he has earned All-American and All-Region honors while also leading and serving in basketball ministry outreach through Brentwood Christian service. Gerdts has maintained a 3.12 GPA as a pastoral major, representing the values and mission of Eagles Athletics at the highest level.

The Awards Brunch served as a celebration of a season defined by championships, individual achievement, and a commitment to excellence in competition, the classroom, and beyond.
