Pensacola, FL – Our Eagles basketball team secured their first home win of the season tonight against the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers (NAIA) with an 86-81 victory!
 
Before the game even started, fans could feel the energy coming from the Eagles as they performed their pre-game warm-up and hype routine. The Eagles started their offense with several baskets from their post players Dakota Pratt and Deric Woods. The Pioneers answered with several baskets of their own. After giving up three baskets to the Pioneers, the Eagles knew they had to run their offense and step up their defense. Eagles' guards John Clay and Austin Lewis went to work on offense, scoring a barrage of three pointers and floaters. Clay finished the first half with 14 points for the Eagles, holding the Eagles' lead 38–34.
 
Clay continued his dominant offense at the start of the second half by drawing several fouls and finishing at the line. The Eagles and Pioneers exchanged leads several times until the score reached 68-68, when the Eagles took flight. The Eagles' offense then took off as Clay took over on offense again. Clay and Lewis secured the Eagles win with the final free throws of the game.
 
Clay finished the game with a new career high of 38 points! Lewis performed well from off the bench finishing with 15 points.
 
The Eagles suit up again tomorrow in the Sports Center at 5:30 pm against Welch College.
