Cleveland, GA -
Noah Rawlings (FR) bombed in seven of ten three pointers and
John Clay (JR) was six of thirteen from long distance. Although the PCC Eagles knocked down 16 total threes in 43 attempts, it was not enough to defeat Truett McConnell University (3-0). The Bears won out 87 – 71. The Bears pushed their break against the Eagles and were on the offensive glass strong in the first half as they had numerous fast break points as well as 14 offensive rebounds. "We didn't do a good job of slowing their break this afternoon and Truett McConnell was able to play downhill all game long," Head Coach
Mark Goetsch stated.
John Clay led the Eagles with 24 points and
Noah Rawlings added 23 points. No other Eagle was able to contribute in double digits. The Bears had four players in double figures led by Darius Thrower with 16 points.
The Eagles travel home and hit the hardwood in Pensacola Tuesday night against Webber International. Tip-off in the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center Arena is 7:30 PM.
