Tuesday night, the Eagles welcomed NAIA opponent Webber International University to the Sports Arena that ended with Warriors leaving with an 88-65 victory. The mid-30 degree temperatures outside affected the Eagles shooting as PCC shot a disappointing 30% from the field. The first half was especially tough on the Eagles (1-4) as they went 17 of 20 possessions without knocking down a shot.
"We were able to address some execution issues at half time and stressed a greater importance on patience. We responded better in the second half with much greater consistency on the offensive end," said Head Coach
Mark Goetsch.
The defensive end proved to be the continual challenge for the Eagles as Webber (2-4) continuously found openings in the paint when driving the basketball where the younger Eagles were no match. "We will continue to drill it every day and the guys will continue to improve. I'm confident in that," said Coach
Mark Goetsch summarizing his thoughts on the evening.
The Eagles were led again by Junior
John Clay with 25 points.
Noah Rawlings (FR) had 11 points, and SR
Dakota Pratt had his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
