Kissimmee, FL – After defeating Randall University, the #1 ranked team in the nation, on Tuesday, the Eagles played their second game in the NCCAA DII National Tournament today against Maranatha Baptist University, the #5 ranked team in the nation. The Eagles stunning offensive performance landed them a 4-0 win over the Sabercats and booked them a spot in the National Championship game on Saturday against Providence University College!
The Eagles started out the first half against the Maranatha Sabercats with an aggressive offense full of crafty passes and solid crosses. 17 minutes into the first half, Eagles' player
Paul Stewart found a long range opportunity and took full advantage of it. The ball bounced off of several defenders and landed right in front of Paul. Paul struck the ball from outside the box straight past three defenders and the goal keeper to the right corner of the goal where it landed in the net.
The Eagles held the Sabercats offense at bay and continued their barrage of attacks. The Eagles finished the first half with a 1-0 lead over the Sabercats.
The Eagles brought high energy to the second half of the game that resulted in an impressive offensive performance. With 28 minutes left in the second half,
Paul Stewart went down with a leg injury.

Paul Stewart's injury,
Riley Buchalski dribbled past his defender and scored the Eagles 2
nd goal of the game off a long pass from
Hayden Hoffman. The Eagles now sat 2-0 against the Sabercats with 26 minutes left in the second half of the game.
The Sabercats found several opportunities for their first goal of the game, but none of their attempts were successful. The Eagles needed one more goal to secure their pool play ranking in the National Championship game on Saturday.
Jake McClelland received a short pass from
Riley Rhodes then squared up with the goal keeper. Jake dribbled toward the goal and faked two shots, tricking both a defender and the goal keeper, then gave the ball a light touch into the net. Jake secured the Eagles' 3
rd goal of the game and their spot in the National Championship.
No more than 30 seconds after Jake's goal,
Rafael Sanzio was left wide open several feet from outside the box. Sanzio netted the ball in the corner of the goal on the opposite side of the goal keeper, confirming the Eagles win over the Sabercats.
The Eagles will play the #2 ranked team in the nation, Providence University College, for the title "National Champion" on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. central time.
