Eagles Win in Close Conference Match

Tonight's match was against Trinity Baptist College, #10 ranked NCCAA DII college from Jacksonville, FL.

For the first half of the match the Eagles and Trinity went back and forth on the field, exchanging goal attempts. 40 minutes into the match #1 Jake McClelland scored PCC's first goal off an assist from #12 Nick Standridge. The Eagles lead the first half 1-0 against Trinity Baptist.

Trinity started the second half of the match with a challenging midfield press against the Eagles. Trinity's defense warded off almost every attack by clearing the ball across the field for the first few minutes of the second half.

Trinity took multiple shot attempts at #0 Adam Lund that were fortunately saved by Eagles' #17 Jason Upchurch. After defending, #10 Kendall Mullenix shifted focus onto Trinity's goal keeper with an attempt to score, but was blocked by Trinity's keeper.

Halfway through the second half Trinity was awarded a penalty kick against the Eagles. Trinity's #9 Joseph Nava used this penalty kick opportunity to tie Trinity with the Eagles 1-1.

#10 Kendall Mullenix answered Trinity's goal by scoring off an assist from #9 Riley Buchalski, giving the Eagles the lead over Trinity 2-1. With just 10 minutes left in the match, the Eagles knew they had to protect their goal from Trinity's attacks if they wanted to win.

With just seconds left on the clock, Trinity was given an opportunity to score with a corner kick. #12 Nick Standridge intercepted the kick and was able to clear the ball, securing the match for the Eagles.
