Pensacola, FL — Senior
Lauren Battle, a four-year starter, shined in her last home game of her career, scoring 20 points in the Lady Eagles 89-53 victory over Toccoa Falls College. With the win, the Lady Eagles finished their regular season off riding a seven-game winning streak and improved their overall record to 17-10 including a flawless 8-0 record in South Region competition.

Jared Sellars continued, "She is a great leader, a fierce competitor, and for her to have a great game in her last home game was really special."
In the 1st quarter, Toccoa Falls College jumped out to an early 6-0 lead behind the play of Grace Crowl and Erin Cary, but the Lady Eagles were able to quickly answer back. An easy layup and a three-pointer by
Lauren Battle helped the Lady Eagles regain an early advantage. The teams would trade buckets throughout the remainder of the quarter, but it was Battle, who scored 11 of her game-high 20 points in the 1st quarter, that helped the Lady Eagles maintain their lead. At the end of the 1st quarter, the team led 24-16 over Toccoa Falls.
Heading into the 2nd quarter, the Lady Eagles hoped to continue their strong performance from behind the three-point line after making five in the opening quarter. The Lady Eagles picked right back up from where they had left off, adding another five three-pointers in the 2nd quarter to give the team 10 in the 1st half.
Haley Sailors and
Jessica Boyd traded three-pointers down the stretch and helped the team head into the half leading 43-31.
"We shot the ball really well tonight," Head Coach
Jared Sellars said after the game. "We made 10 three-pointers in the 1st half and will need to continue to do that as we get deeper into this season."
The 3rd quarter saw the Lady Eagles carry on the momentum that they had built in the 1st half. The team would go on to widen their 12-point halftime advantage to as high as 26 points in the 3rd quarter.
Lauren Battle and
Joy Smith would team up to hit three more three-pointers in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Eagles headed into the 4th quarter leading Toccoa Falls College 67-42.
Coach
Jared Sellars emptied his bench heading into the 4th quarter and allowed several players to gain some valuable experience.
Haley Sailors played well in the quarter, scoring five of her season-high 14 points in the last period. With 3:44 remaining on the clock,
Lauren Battle sank her second free-throw to give the Lady Eagles a 32-point advantage. She would leave the game after the free-throw to a loud standing ovation from the Eagles faithful and a multitude of hugs from her teammates. The Lady Eagles would go on to win the game 89-53 over Toccoa Falls College.

Jared Sellars said after the game. "It was important for us to finish this season off strong and will be important for us to carry this momentum into the upcoming regional tournament."
Senior
Lauren Battle led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 20 points in the team's victory. The Lady Eagles received double-digit scoring outputs from four players – Battle (20), Smith (16), Boyd (15), and Sailors (14). The Lady Eagles next game will be on Friday, February 23 when they take on the winner of Trinity Baptist College and Toccoa Falls College in the 2nd round of the NCCAA South Region tournament.
