Lady Eagles Drop Five Set Thriller to Rams

COLUMBIA, South Carolina–Our Lady Eagles Volleyball team rallied after losing the first set and took a 2-1 set advantage, but the resilient Rams battled back to secure a closely contested 5-set victory in today's non-conference road matchup.

Baylee Jensen and Jasmine Baldonado combined for 29 kills (16 and 13 respectively) while Hannah Adkins added a team high 21 assists in the match. The Lady Eagles recorded 52 kills in the match on a .244 hitting percentage.

The team would drop the first set, but rallied in the second and third sets to take a 2-1 advantage over the Rams in Columbia, SC. In the fourth set, the Lady Eagles were unable to ride a late rally to a victory. Columbia International University would come out strong in the 5th set and secured a 3-2 victory over the Lady Eagles.

"We weren't able to capitalize on our good plays today." Lady Eagles Head Coach Calyn Ohman continued, "Volleyball is a game of runs, and we let them have too many strong runs because of our errors."

The Lady Eagles will hit the court again tomorrow afternoon against Brevard College and Covenant College at the Covenant College Tri-Match in Lookout Mountain, GA. The Lady Eagles, sitting at 14-14 on the season, will look to close out their regular season on a high note as they prepare for the NCCAA SOUTH Region tournament that begins on November 1, 2018.
