LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Georgia–The Lady Eagles concluded their 2018 regular season with a split at today's Covenant College Tri-Match, beating Brevard College in straight sets but ultimately dropping the late game in 5 sets to Covenant College.
Sophomore
Baylee Jensen led the Lady Eagles with 30 kills in the two matches. Junior
Jasmine Baldonado finished the day with 18 kills and 43 digs to go along with 8 blocks.
Hannah Adkins and
Piper Bledsoe combined for 73 assists, and the Lady Eagles finished the day with a hitting percentage of .128.
Brevard College
Against the Tornadoes, the Lady Eagles displayed a high-powered offense that proved to be too much. The team trailed late in the 1st set, but the Lady Eagles were able to make a run and secured the 1st set by a score of 25-22.
The 2nd set was much easier for the Lady Eagles. The team would jump out to an early lead behind the play of
Baylee Jensen and
Hannah Adkins and never looked back. The Lady Eagles went on to finish off the 2nd set by a score of 25-16.
In the 3rd and final set, the Tornadoes kept the game close, but ultimately were not able to overcome the Eagles strong offense and tenacious defense. The Lady Eagles recorded 39 kills on 118 attempts, a hitting percentage of .153.
Covenant College
In the second game of the day, the Lady Eagles would go back and forth with the host Covenant College Scots. The Scots quickly jumped out to an early lead and won the first set 25-18 despite a late run by the Lady Eagles.
In the 2nd set, the Lady Eagles would return the favor. The team jumped out to an early advantage and didn't look over their shoulder, taking the set 25-19. The Scots were able to weather another late Lady Eagles charge in their hotly contested 26-24 3rd set victory.
The Lady Eagles, who found themselves trailing 2-1, were not done yet. The team went on to secure a 4th set victory 25-21 over the Scots behind the play of Baldonado and Jensen. The Scots would ultimately prove to be too much for the Lady Eagles. They would go on to secure the 5th set 15-12 and the match 3-2.
In the contest, the Lady Eagles recorded a season high 51 kills on 172 attempts for a hitting percentage of .110.

Calyn Ohman finished, "We played really well in both games today against Brevard and Covenant. The victory against Brevard was big for our confidence, but unfortunately we couldn't win the second game of the day."
With the 1-1 split at today's Tri-Match, the Lady Eagles ended their season with a 15-15 record. The #8 ranked Lady Eagles will head into next week's NCCAA SOUTH Region tournament in New Port Richey, FL looking to secure a bid to the National Tournament hosted in Greenville, SC on November 15-17.
