Lady Eagles Secure Program-Best 16th Consecutive Victory

Game Recap:
Entering the night on a 15-game winning streak, the Lady Eagles welcomed familiar foe Toccoa Falls College with history on the line. Winners of six of their last seven games, the Lady Eagles needed one more victory to secure the longest win streak in program history. In a hard-fought 40-minute battle where the Lady Eagles trailed just twice, they withstood several Toccoa runs and closed out a 67-57 win to earn their 18th victory of the season and extend the streak to a program-record 16 straight wins.

The Lady Eagles opened the game on a 6-0 run, fueled by three-pointers from Autumn Boutwell and Amber Dudek. Toccoa responded with baskets from Amy Ahrens and Sky Boyd to tie the game at 8-8. The opening quarter remained tightly contested, with the Lady Eagles holding a narrow 11-10 edge midway through the frame. Both teams struggled to find consistent offense, shooting under 30%, as the quarter closed with the Lady Eagles leading 15-12.

The second quarter began with a strong surge from the Lady Eagles, who used a 14-4 run to create separation. Boyd, Brooklyn Bosher, and Autumn Boutwell accounted for all 14 points during the run. Defense took over for both teams, resulting in nearly three minutes of scoreless play. After an Abby Matney three-pointer with 2:24 remaining, the Lady Eagles were held scoreless the rest of the quarter, but still maintained control despite Toccoa closing the half on an 8-0 run. At the break, the Lady Eagles held a 32-26 advantage.

Momentum swung early in the third quarter as Toccoa extended its run to 15-0, briefly taking a one-point lead following a three-pointer. A Micah Coalson jumper finally stopped the drought, snapping nearly six minutes without a field goal. What followed was a back-and-forth stretch featuring three lead changes and two ties over the next three minutes. Boyd broke the final tie with a pair of free throws, igniting an 11-4 Lady Eagle run to close the quarter. Boyd scored eight points during the surge, while Bosher added a timely three-pointer to send the Lady Eagles into the fourth quarter with a 50-43 lead.

The Lady Eagles controlled the pace in the final frame, maintaining a steady seven-to-ten point cushion throughout the quarter. Bosher opened the scoring with a jumper, followed by two free throws from Boyd and another Bosher basket to keep the lead at double digits with under six minutes remaining. After Toccoa scored on consecutive possessions, Boyd answered with back-to-back buckets, assisted by Ahrens and Coalson. Despite a late push from Toccoa, clutch baskets and free throws from Bosher and Boutwell sealed the victory as the Lady Eagles closed out a 67-57 win.

The Lady Eagles were led by their dynamic duo of Sky Boyd and Brooklyn Bosher, who combined for 48 of the team's 67 points. Bosher paced all scorers with 26 points while adding 7 rebounds, 5  steals, and 3 assists. Boyd recorded her 9th double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Lady Eagles shot 29% from the field and 21% from three-point range, but made the difference at the free-throw line, converting 89% of their attempts.

What's Next:
The Lady Eagles hit the road for their next two contests, traveling to Jacksonville to face Trinity College of Jacksonville before heading to Nashville for a matchup with Welch College.
