Eagles Soar Into National Championship With 8–2 Pool Play Statement Win

Match Recap:
With a spot in the National Championship on the line, the Eagles delivered their most explosive performance of the season, overpowering #2 ranked Alice Lloyd College 8-2 in their final pool play match of the 2025 National Tournament. Entering the match at 1-0-1, the Eagles knew a win would secure their place in Saturday night's Championship match, and they wasted no time taking control.

From the opening whistle, the Eagles came out flying. The attack was relentless, producing three goals in the first 15 minutes and putting immediate pressure on Alice Lloyd. The Eagles dominated possession throughout the match, dictating the pace and maintaining control in all phases of play.
By halftime, the Eagles held a commanding 5-1 lead, and the momentum continued into the second half. Three more goals sealed the victory and capped one of the most complete offensive performances of the season. The Eagles outshot Alice Lloyd 31-23, including 20 shots on goal compared to just 10 allowed.

The scoring barrage featured contributions across the lineup. Jackson Clarke recorded a tournament hat trick with goals in the early minutes, again around the 20-minute mark, and his third in the 57th minute. Reid Rhodes added a goal, Samir Vieira Siqueira converted another penalty kick, and the Eagles received energizing goals from Devin Woods and Colin Elms, who each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers. Odanci Ndayisaba also found the back of the net, rounding out the Eagles' eight-goal performance.

The Eagles rotated three goalkeepers in the win. Nathaniel Hixson started and played 72 minutes, making five saves and anchoring the defense. Aaron Gamonal added a save in 8 minutes of action, and Tyler Csorba closed the night with 2 saves in the final 8 minutes.

Tournament Recap:
Through three pool play matches, several Eagles delivered standout performances that helped push the team into the National Championship game.

Jackson Clarke finished pool play with three goals, all recorded in the win over Alice Lloyd. He took 23 total shots across the three matches, nine of them on frame, and played 240 of the possible 270 minutes.

Odanci Ndayisaba ended pool play with one goal and one assist. He recorded nine total shots and played more than 60 minutes in all three matches, consistently applying pressure with his pace and creativity.

Samir Vieira Siqueira scored in all three pool play matches, finishing with three goals. He produced 8 total shots with four on target and played over 70 minutes in each match.

In goal, Nathaniel Hixson went 2-0 in pool play. He faced 20 total shots and made 7 saves, providing steady leadership at the back throughout the week.

What's Next:
The Eagles advance to the National Championship match, where they will face a familiar South Region opponent in Toccoa Falls College. The two teams met twice earlier this season. In their regular-season meeting at Toccoa, the Eagles earned a strong 4-2 victory. Their second matchup came in the South Region Tournament, where Toccoa upset the Eagles in a 2-2 double-overtime thriller that went to a penalty shootout. The Eagles fell short in the shootout 3-4. With a national title on the line, the Eagles are hungry for both redemption and hardware. They are determined to avenge their South Region semifinal heartbreak and bring home the National Championship banner and trophy for the first time since 2023.
