Lady Eagles Rally From Early Deficit to Defeat Covenant on the Road

Game Recap:
After back-to-back losses by a combined seven points, the Lady Eagles hit the road for the fourth straight time, taking on the Covenant Scots in their sixth game of the 2025 season. A slow start put PCC in an early hole, but a dominant offensive surge over the next three quarters carried the Lady Eagles to an 85-74 victory, their third win of the year and their highest scoring output of the young season.

Covenant executed well early on both ends, holding the Lady Eagles scoreless for nearly four minutes and building a 21-8 advantage, the largest lead for either team on the night. A line-change substitution provided the spark PCC needed, as Lydia Adams drove to the rim to break the scoring seal. Late buckets from Ahrens and a three pointer from Bosher helped settle the Eagles, who trailed 15-24 after the opening quarter.

The second quarter belonged entirely to the Lady Eagles. After an uncontested layup from Ahrens off a Dudek assist, PCC erupted for their highest scoring period of the season. Trailing 17-29, the Lady Eagles found the momentum shift they needed, and it started with Brooklyn Bosher. The junior scored 15 points in the quarter alone, including a pull-up jumper followed by an and-one three pointer for six points in roughly thirty seconds. Matney drilled a triple, Bosher followed with another, and in less than two minutes PCC had cut the deficit from 12 to just 2. A turnaround jumper from Boyd tied the game at 31-31, and two more Bosher threes flipped the scoreboard entirely. With additional points from Matney, Boyd, and Moilan, the Lady Eagles closed out the half on a commanding run and led 43-36 after outscoring Covenant 28-12 in the quarter.

To start the second half, Moilan connected on her first three pointer of the night to push the lead into double digits. Covenant responded by chipping the margin down to one at the four minute mark, but freshman Autumn Boutwell quickly provided the counterpunch. Back-to-back threes from the freshman, assisted by Matney and Boyd, stretched the lead back to seven. A steal and transition layup from Matney extended it to nine, and PCC carried a 64-58 lead into the final quarter.

Covenant threatened again to open the fourth, trimming the deficit to two, but Bosher's sixth three pointer of the night and a pair of free throws steadied the Lady Eagles. After a relatively quiet first three quarters, Sky Boyd came alive in the fourth with eight points, including a personal 6-0 run that rebuilt separation. A steal and layup by freshman Micah Coalson pushed the lead back to double figures, and despite a few late baskets by Covenant, PCC's ball movement and free throw shooting secured the 85-74 win.

Bosher led all scorers with 26 points and 9 rebounds on 8-17 shooting and 6-11 from three. Boyd recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds on 7-15 shooting. Freshman Autumn Boutwell added 14 points on 4-9 shooting from behind the arc. Fellow freshman Micah Coalson contributed across the board with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in just 19 minutes of action.
