Lady Eagles Win Big Against Southwestern Adventist

Game Recap:
After a huge home victory over one of the top programs in the country last night, the Lady Eagles settled back into "The Nest" for their home weekend finale against Southwestern Adventist University. With an undefeated all-time record against SWAU, the Lady Eagles looked to keep that streak alive and did so in convincing fashion. Behind a dominant first quarter and 39 minutes of total control, PCC rolled to a 72-58 win to close out the weekend.

The Lady Eagles' starting lineup featured four newcomers and one returner (Boyd, Bosher, Boutwell, Coalson, Moilan), but the group showed early chemistry, jumping out to a blazing 14-0 lead in the opening six minutes. Bosher led the charge with 8 of the first 14 points, setting the tone for a night that would be all Lady Eagles. After SWAU finally broke the silence with just over three minutes left in the quarter, PCC answered quickly with back-to-back buckets from Amy Ahrens to stretch the lead to 21-7, their largest first-quarter margin of the season.

Matching that early fire, the Lady Eagles followed up their 21-point opening quarter with 23 more in the second. SWAU nearly tripled their first-quarter output with 18 points on 3-5 3PT shooting, but the Lady Eagles' balanced attack proved too much. Six players scored in the frame as PCC shot 11-25 from the field. At the break, the Lady Eagles led 44-25, powered by Boyd's 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Bosher added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The second half saw the Lady Eagles continue to find contributions across the roster. Boutwell opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but the third quarter belonged to Abby Matney, who came off the bench red-hot with 9 points on a perfect 4-4 shooting, including 1-1 from behind the arc. Her back-to-back midrange jumpers to end the third and open the fourth pushed the Lady Eagles' lead to 26, their largest of the night.

Although the Knights outscored PCC 18-8 in the final quarter, aided by turnovers and fouls, the Lady Eagles maintained full control to secure their second win of the season, 72-58.

Nine different Lady Eagles found the scoring column, led by Brooklyn Bosher with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Boyd added 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 18 minutes, while Matney contributed 12 points, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds. Ahrens chipped in 9 points and 4 boards to round out a strong team effort on both ends of the floor.
