Game Preview:
The Eagles men's basketball team returns to The Nest for a matchup against the Champion Christian College Tigers, taking place this Friday at 7:30 PM.
The Eagles came out firing in their first home game of the season against Baptist University of Florida, a new NCCAA South Region opponent. PCC controlled the game from start to finish, holding a double-digit lead for nearly the entire night and finishing with 90 points, 60 of which came in the paint. Kaiden Pack led the charge with a dominant 37-point performance on 73% shooting, while Raul Bertinato added a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Liam Gerdts also chipped in 15 points and 7 boards to round out a balanced offensive effort.
The Eagles have a young history against Champion Christian, facing them only twice last season and falling short in both contests. The Tigers are coming off a strong year, winning their competitive Southwest Region and finishing ahead of notable programs like Arlington Baptist and Southwestern Adventist, while also taking Ozark Christian College to overtime. The matchup presents a chance for the Eagles to measure themselves against one of the NCCAA's most consistent programs.
As part of the Pensacola Invitational, the Eagles will look to build on their early momentum and extend their home success. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM on Friday evening in The Nest. Come out and cheer on your Eagles as they look to stay hot to start the 2025–26 season.
