Eagles Suffer Back-to-Back Losses

Game Recap:
After a challenging home defeat on Thursday, the Eagles faced Brewton Parker College on the road in Mount Vernon, GA, for their first-ever clash with the Barons. Despite an early lead, the Eagles ultimately lost via a 4-1 loss after a tough second half.

The match began with both teams testing each other, but it was the Eagles who struck first. In the 19th minute, senior Niwe Mugeni delivered a precise cross into the box, which was headed in by fellow senior Giovanni Pauliello. This goal marked Pauliello's first of the season and gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead. As the first half progressed, goalkeeper Bryce Hammond was kept busy, making six crucial saves in the final 20 minutes to keep the Eagles in the lead. However, the momentum shifted early in the second half. Just two minutes in, Brewton Parker was awarded a penalty kick, which they converted to level the score at 1-1. The Barons quickly followed up with another goal, taking the lead 2-1.

The Eagles tried to regain control, with several attempts on goal in the 50th minute, but their efforts were in vain. The Barons continued their aggressive play, scoring their third goal in the 56th minute, and then a fourth in the 62nd minute. This 16-minute burst of goals proved too much for the Eagles to overcome. With a 4-1 deficit and time running out, the Eagles were unable to mount a comeback. The loss dropped the Eagles' season record to 3-3.

What's Next:
Tuesday night, the Eagles will host NCAA DII opponent Spring Hill College. With their match on October 3rd of last season ending in a 0-0 tie, both teams look to take the historical advantage.
