Lady Eagles Dominate in the National Quarterfinal

Game Recap:
Facing Calvary University for the first time in program history and playing in Minnesota for the first time in program history, the Lady Eagles wanted to make an early statement at this year's National Tournament. After a dominating 18-5 first quarter, the Lady Eagles never looked back and ultimately won their quarterfinal matchup. Led by Kristin Mentzer's 14-point performance, the Lady Eagles defeated Calvary 68-45 to advance to this year's semifinals.

With Calvary gaining the lead early 2-0 lead, the Lady Eagles quickly regained the lead and never gave back. After going on a 14-1 run in the opening stages of the game, six Lady Eagles got involved early on the scoreboard. As the scoring run continued, the Lady Eagles' dominance continued as well. Holding the Warriors to just 13 points in the first half, the Lady Eagles commanded a 40-13 lead over Calvary University.

The 3rd quarter was played the same way as the first half… Lady Eagles dominated the 3rd quarter 20-7. With Kristin Mentzer and Leah Phelps scoring 5 points each in the quarter, the Lady Eagles commanded a 60-20. While the Warriors were able to outscore the Lady Eagles in the 4th quarter, the Lady Eagles came out ahead with a 68-45 victory to advance to the 2024 National Semifinals.
