The Eagles Remain Undefeated after Winning Their First South Region Match

Game Recap:
For the first time in program history, the Eagles start their season unbeaten through five games! Defeating South Region opponent Toccoa Falls College by a final score of 5-0, with goals coming from four different players. With dominance all around the field, the Eagles lost their second shutout in a row and pushed their season record to 5-0.

Just five minutes into the game, Reid Rhodes found his second goal of the season off an assist from Niwe Mugeni. Just a few moments later, Jacob Bernard put a shot on goal, although the initial shot was saved, junior striker Lourenco Goncalves was there to put in the rebound goal and give the Eagles an early 2-0 lead only six minutes into the game. In the 26^th minute, the Eagles worked the ball up the field and into the box where Goncalves was able to draw a penalty. Lourenco stepped up to the penalty spot and buried his second goal of the game giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead with 19 minutes left in the first half.

After the half, the Eagles held a 3-0 lead. After a dominance in the possession game, twenty minutes into the half the Eagles found yet another goal. Coming off the through ball from freshman Eric Romero, Niwe Mugeni was able to net his 4^th goal of the season. As the Eagles continued their dominance, in the 68^th minute, freshman Nicholas Clark netted his 3^rd goal of the season and pushed the Eagles lead to 5-0 where it would remain for the remainder of the match.

The Eagles finish this game with a 5-0 victory over their first region opponent of the season. With this win, the Eagles remain unbeaten with a 5-0 record in 2023 and now hold a region record of 1-0!

What's Next:
Thursday, September 14^th the Eagles will host NJCAA opponent Andrew College at 7:00 PM. This game begins a two game home stretch for the Eagles. Be sure to come out to Eagles Field and cheer on your undefeated Eagles!
