Lady Eagles Suffer Their First NCCAA South Region Loss of the Season

The Lady Eagles suffered their first loss in the NCCAA South Region to Toccoa Falls College. After a slow first quarter start, PCC was down 12—14 early and unfortunately the Lady Eagles could never get a strong run going to push them to the victory.

After a tightly contested 1st quarter, the Lady Eagles were outscored 20—9 in the 2nd quarter. Going into halftime with a 21—34 deficit, the Lady Eagles knew they had their work cut out for them in the second half. Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles were outscored in the second half 30—32. Finalizing the Lady Eagles sixth loss of the season with a 51—66 loss. However, the key to tonight's Lady Eagles loss was the rebounding. Toccoa Falls out-rebounded the Lady Eagles 52—40, while grabbing 21 offensive rebounds which led to the Screaming Eagles having 20 second chance points. Helping to lead the offense for the Lady Eagles for the first time this season was freshman Rachel Phelps who recorded a career-high 12 points on 4/5 FG shooting, 2/2 3PT shooting, and 2/2 FT shooting.

Saturday, the Lady Eagles will host the Welch College Flames in yet another NCCAA DII matchup. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM, come out and support your Lady Eagles in their second to last home game of the season!
