Lady Eagles Escape the Semi-Finals With Their Third BJU Victory of the Year

The Lady Eagles defeat the Bob Jones University Lady Bruins in the South Region semi-finals by a final score of 66—55. With a challenging first half, the Lady Eagles came out of halftime and dominated the second half to secure their spot in the NCCAA South Region championship game!
 
After going down 15—10 at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Eagles battled through a grueling and high scoring second quarter. Unfortunately, Bob Jones was able to enter halftime with a 25—34 lead, but the adjustments made at halftime propelled the Lady Eagles to their first lead since the first quarter. The Lady Eagles came out of the break with a heavy full court press and opened the third quarter on a 14—0 run! Although the Bruins regained the lead, 4 straight points for Jenna Wolford to close out the third quarter, re-claiming the lead for the Lady Eagles. The fourth quarter was dominated by the incredible shooting performance from junior Jenna Wolford who recorded 14 points in the fourth quarter and went 4/6 from behind the arc! Aside from her fourth quarter, Wolford set a new career high with 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Following Wolford's footsteps, senior Carissa Akin also set her new career high, recording 11 total points on 5/7 shooting and also grabbing 7 rebounds!  
 
Saturday, the Lady Eagles face off against Toccoa Falls College for the 2023 NCCAA South Region Championship! This game is set to start at 12:00 PM CT. Tune into the stream and support your Lady Eagles in their road for a championship.
