Eagles Fall Short in the Regional Semi-Finals to Trinity Baptist College

The Eagles lose their 10 game winning streak, and fall to Trinity Baptist College effectively removing the Eagles from the NCCAA South Region tournament. With a strong first half performance from Trinity Baptist, the Eagles fall short 65—84.

Besides being tied with Trinity three times in the first half, the Eagles never had a lead in this South Region matchup. Trinity Baptist opened the game by jumping out to a large lead 19—10 in the first six minutes of the game. Although the Eagles made a push nearly gaining the lead, Trinity ended the second half with a 36—51 lead shooting 64.5% from the field. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the team never truly found their stride and suffered a 19 point loss in the region semi-finals. Leading the Eagles offensively was senior guard Austin Lewis who played all 40 minutes for the Eagles and recorded 21 points and on 5/9 shooting from 3PT land!

The Eagles now await the national voting to determine whether the Eagles will or will not receive an at-large bid to attend this years National Tournament in Joplin, MO.
