Lady Eagles Claim First Ever Victory Over Belhaven University

Game Film:
vs. Pensacola Christian - Belhaven University Athletics

Game Recap:

With their third game of the week, and second game in two days the Lady Eagles had to lock in and focus on their opponent Belhaven University. Having a program record of 0-6 against Belhaven, the 32-point, 82-50 win was so sweet!

Excluding the first basket of the game, the Lady Eagles dominated this matchup with the Belhaven Blazers and held the lead for the entirety of the game. After the first four minutes of play led to an 8-8 tie, Jenna Wolford recorded a steal and two made free throws that ultimately led to the Lady Eagles ending the first quarter on a 13-2 run! Claiming a 21-10 lead at the end of the first. After three scoreless minutes to start the second quarter, the Lady Eagles once again turned on the jets and further extended their lead over Belhaven and commanded a 44-24 lead going into the halftime break.

With the second-half lead never getting lower than 16 points and peaking at 36 points, the Lady Eagles continued to dominate through the two final quarters of play. With the ball being spread around, four Lady Eagles (Jenna Wolford, Alissa Brewer, Leah Phelps, and Sky Boyd) had a double-digit scoring game. With 12 first-half points, Alissa Brewer helped lead the Lady Eagles into the half with their 20-point lead. However, it was senior Jenna Wolford who once again stole the show offensively. After achieving 1,000 career points the night before against Trinity Baptist Jenna Wolford once again put her name in the record books. With 28 points scored Wolford has set the all-time record for most three-pointers made in a single game by a Lady Eagle with 8 threes made with 47% shooting from behind the arc.
