Lady Eagles Advance to the South Region Championship Game

Game Recap:
With the threat of their season ending sooner than expected, the Lady Eagles entered the South Region semi-final match against the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles. After a tough loss in the first set, the Lady Eagles had to battle back. At the end of the match, the Lady Eagles walked out victorious with a 3-1 win over TFC.
 
The first set was one to never forget. With the Lady Eagles quickly going up 6-1, they were trying to put the set out of reach early. After battling back, TFC found themselves with a 17-13 lead. As the Lady Eagles battled back, the teams were in a deadlock going back and forth from 23-23 to the ultimate TFC victory of 32-30!
 
Although the Lady Eagles fell short in set #1, they quickly recovered and dominated set #2 by a final of 25-18. With the match being tied 1-1, the teams once again played an incredible set. With the first set falling to TFC, the Lady Eagles fought and won the third set 25-22. With only one set between the Lady Eagles and the regional championship game, they had to play well. With TFC gaining an early 8-4 lead the teams were battling. The Lady Eagles were able to tie the game at 10 each. Going down 12-16 the Lady Eagles had to find something… and they did! Putting together a 9-0 run the Lady Eagles claimed the lead and ultimately claimed the win 25-19.
 
Although today was a great victory for the team, senior Allie McGuirt set a new PCC record! Allie is now the All-Time leader in points scored for the Lady Eagles, and with more games to come, that record will continue to grow!
