The Lady Eagles Grab Their Thirteenth Win of the Season Against Warren Wilson College

Relentless defense and rebounding led the Lady Eagles to their sixth straight win last night when they defeated Warren Wilson College

The Lady Eagles struggled to hit their shots early, shooting 30% from the field and going 0-5 from the three in the first quarter. After the slow start, the Lady Eagles found their stride in the second quarter when they went on a 12—2 run in five minutes, taking an eight-point lead which would eventually be cut to six as they went into the locker room up 40—34. After halftime, the Lady Eagles strong defensive play held the Owls to just 11 points in the third quarter, opening a nineteen-point lead going into the final quarter which they held onto until the final whistle for a 78—59 win over their NCAA DIII opponent. The Lady Eagles were led both offensively and defensively by Leah Phelps with 20 points and 5 steals. However, Alissa Brewer set a career-high for most rebounds in a game, grabbing 14 rebounds and scoring 14 points to record her first double-double of the season.
