Eagles Get Another Road Win Against Bob Jones University

The Eagles were able to pull off the victory against Bob Jones University by a final score of 64—56. This is the first time since February 11, 2017 that the Eagles have defeated the Bruins on the basketball court!

The Eagles started off strong, getting an early 13—4 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. Although the Bruins resilience and effort was there, the Eagles were able to hold off the attack and go into halftime with a 29—27 lead. The Eagles then put on an impressive second half outscoring the Bruins 35—29. With the dominating paint performance from sophomore Liam Gerdts, who recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, the Eagles were able to hold onto the lead and achieve their much-desired victory. However, it was senior guard Austin Lewis who dominated the game defensively for the Eagles. The Bruins senior guard Henry Blaire, the reigning Region Player of the Year, has averaged 21.6 PPG but was held to a mere 4 points from the tenacious defense from Lewis and the Eagles. The Eagles rallied as a team both offensively and defensively and were able to snap an 0—8 losing streak to the Bob Jones University Bruins!

Monday, the Eagles will head to North Carolina. There, they will take on NCAA DIII opponent Warren Wilson College. This game will be the Eagles final stop before defending "The Nest" against two South Region opponents, Trinity College of Florida and Bob Jones University.
