Eagles Pull Out a Nail-Biter Against Johnson University of FL

The Eagles pulled out a nail-biter victory against NCCAA South Region opponent Johnson University of FL. The game came down to the final seconds, but it was the Eagles who came out victorious by a final score of 82—81.
 
Going into halftime with a lead of 42—32, the Eagles were on the defensive throughout the second half. The Suns outscored the Eagles 40—49 in the second half, however, The clutch three pointer from senior guard Austin Lewis with 36 seconds remaining was the dagger the Eagles needed to put the Suns away. Although the Eagles felt the win approaching the Suns came down and scored a quick bucket, then fouled sophomore forward Liam Gerdts who knocked down both of his free throws extending the lead back to three. With a late foul and free throws, from senior AJ Ward the Eagles were able to seal their third South Region victory in a row!
 
The Eagles bring their road-trip to an end Tuesday when they face yet another NCCAA South Region opponent, Trinity Baptist College. This game begins at 7:00 PM CT immediately following the Lady Eagles game.
