Lady Eagles Split Two-Match Event with MUW

The Lady Eagles played the Mississippi University for Women in a one-day, two-match event. After losing the first match 1–3, the Lady Eagles dominated the second match winning 3–0.

In the first match, after losing the first set 21–25, the Lady Eagles came back aggressive in the second set, winning 25–20. However, it seems that the home court advantage of the MUW Lady Owls proved true in the last two sets of the first match.

From the first point of the second match, it was obvious that the Lady Eagles came out ready to make a statement! After winning the first set 25–18, the Lady Eagles never looked back, dominating the next two sets 25–12 and 25–16. The Lady Eagles second match was led offensively by junior setter Kenzie Folker. Folker led the Lady Eagles with 8 kills and 19 assists. Senior hitters Bethany Gamble and Brittney Hunter combined for 11 kills with an average hitting percentage of 34 percent (.341).

The Lady Eagles will host the University of Mobile Lady Rams this coming Tuesday, September 6, at 6 p.m. After the Mobile match, Pensacola Christian College will host the South Region Volleyball Kickoff Tournament. On September 9–10, the Lady Eagles will be playing four games in two days.
