Eagles Win Big At Home, Snapping A Five Game Losing Streak

The Eagles soccer team was able to snap their five-game losing streak at home Thursday night, defeating NAIA opponent Tougaloo College by a final score of 2–0. This was the Eagles' first win since their home match against Florida College on September 1.

After being unable to score in their last five matches, the Eagles came into this home matchup ready to get the win. Sophomore captain Dakotah Barchus opened the Eagles scoring in the first twenty minutes with an incredible shot outside the goalie box. Following his fellow sophomore, Chase Hawkins scored the second goal of the match midway through the second half, stretching the Eagles lead to 2–0. This excited the offense and opened more scoring opportunities for the Eagles! The Eagles took an astonishing 36 total shots and ended up having 15 shots on goal.

This weekend, the Eagles head to Jacksonville, Florida, to take on their first NCCAA opponent of the season. The Trinity Baptist College Eagles enter the weekend match with a 1–5–2 record, while the Eagles come in off a dominating win and a 2–6 record. This being the first of six NCCAA matches, the Eagles are going in with supreme confidence and a desire to start their division matchups with a win.
