Lady Eagles Once Again, Split Their Two-Match Day

On Saturday, September 10, the Lady Eagles once again split their two-match day during the 2022 South Region Kickoff Tournament. After defeating Trinity College of Florida by a match score of 3–0, the Lady Eagles lost their tournament closing match to Toccoa Falls by a score of 1–3.
 
The Lady Eagles showed their experience and power in the three-set sweep against the Trinity College of Florida Tigers. Allie McGuirt once again dominated the net and led the Lady Eagles in this match with 9 kills and 4 blocks. Defensively, junior Kora Lathers led the Lady Eagles with 10 digs, setting up some amazing pass opportunities for her team's offense. The Lady Eagles were able to combine for 9 blocks and 33 kills during this three-set match. The Lady Eagles were able to dominate the net both offensively and defensively, opening the door for a huge NCCAA South Region Victory!
 
After the Trinity College match, the Lady Eagles immediately faced the powerful Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles. After dropping the first two sets, the Lady Eagles started the third set on an 8–1 run and were able to win by a score of 25–16. The Lady Eagles unfortunately could not complete the comeback, as they lost set number four. Although the Lady Eagles lost, senior outside hitter Brittney Hunter was able to tally 11 kills against the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles.
