Eagles Pull Out Their First NCCAA South Region Victory

The Eagles pulled out their first NCCAA South Region win of the 2022 season when they defeated the Southeastern Baptist College by a final score of 69—66. Coming down to the last seconds, the Eagles were able to hold off the Chargers and take their second win of the season.

The Eagles outscored Southeastern in the first half by a score of 37—30. However, the SBC Chargers made a big push in the second half and outscored the Eagles 32—36. Down to the final seconds, SBC put up a half-court shot but were unable to knock it down allowing the Eagles to leave "The Nest" with their first NCCAA South Region win of the season. Four Eagles broke into double digits: AJ Ward (16), Liam Gerdts (14), Austin Lewis (13), and Brandtley Koske (12). However, it was the dominating performance of sophomore Liam Gerdts with his second double-double of the season, recording 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Monday, the Eagles head to Jackson, MS to take on NCAA DIII opponent Belhaven University at 5:30p CT. This will be the Eagles third game against NCAA DIII opponents. Then, the Eagles will turn around and play the Mississippi University for Women Owls Tuesday night at 5:00p CT. Tune in while the Eagles are on the road to cheer them on!
