Eagles Lose to NAIA Opponent Ave Maria University

The Eagles lost to NAIA opponent Ave Maria University by a final score of 67—89. The Gyrenes jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.
 
The Eagles were led in scoring by their three seniors AJ Ward (21), Austin Lewis (15), and Christian Porter (14). These seniors combined for 50 of the Eagles 67 total points. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Gyrenes also had 3 players in double figures who helped propel them to a 22-point victory. Down 27—50 at the half, the Eagles made some adjustments and were able to win the second half by a score of 40—39, however with the large lead built up by the Gyrenes, the Eagles could not complete a comeback.
 
This game concludes the 2022 portion of the Eagles basketball season. The Eagles will begin the second half of their season against Emory and Henry College Friday, January 6th at 6:00p CT. Keep an eye out for the game schedule and cheer on your Eagles during the Christmas break.
